Finding a cure for epilepsy is still something we can dream about. At the moment is still incurable. But they have pills. A lot of pills to suppress seizures. But it doesn't always help. Not for all. They are experimenting on you and if this one doesn't help, they will try another one, and so on…They tested a lot of different pills on me but unfortunately, we still didn’t find the right one. In the beginning, my seizures weren’t so common. They were random and always in the morning. But because my pills made me depressed and anxious and nerves, I didn’t want to take them anymore, so my neurologist prescribed me something new. It helped. 3 month and then it started again, so we have increased the dose. And again, 4 months nothing happened. Then I started to take new medicine for my Chron's disease and seizures occurred again. They were longer and more powerful. In the last 3 weeks, I had 4 attacks. Maybe because I was nervous or because these two medicines don’t function together. And I am pissed now. They don’t know if this is the perfect combination because not a lot of people take this two together. I still didn’t meet someone with epilepsy and Morbus Chron and I'm looking for them. Maybe they have some advice on what to do. Entyvio is a new medicine and they are still not sure what side effects it causes. So, why they prescribe that? I'm still not in remission and I'm really really pissed. The only thing that helps for me is…pot… It doesn't cure but it helps to calm, sleep and eat. CBD in the morning and THC at night. Not one seizure occurs at night. Only in the morning and last few months also in the afternoon. But this is still the delicate theme for the public. I convinced my parents because they saw that works for me and my brother, but my grandmother was a problem. She cried and cried and that I'm a junky now, but I gave her one simple example. Alcohol. It's killing people and make them aggressive and destroys families. And hemp? I don't have time and will to get angry and I'm driving my car slower not faster :) I really don't understand why people are so supportive of alcohol, but this, that actually came from nature and it helps to so many people, is so despised. So, I decided to make a presentation for my family why, and how it helps. I'm not sure if it's smart to talk about this in public and till now I didn't mention that THC helps for me, but I don't care anymore because health is more important, and I need to talk about this. Epilepsy is, by some general definition, a condition in which a person has recurrent attacks. The attack is defined as an abnormal and uncontrolled triggering of the nerve cells of the brain, leading to a temporary disorder of motor, sensory or mental functions. However, there is rarely a single cause for epilepsy, but a set of causes or a demolished homeostasis of the body. Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TKM) also agree with this claim and it is slowly being confirmed by modern science. Epilepsy can come from problems in the intestines. We can even find the term "abdominal epilepsy" or "autoimmune epilepsy". For decades we know that in the intestine is approx. 80% of the immune system. The bad immune system can cause huge health problems that can affect every part of the body. Therefore, healthy intestines are critical for good health. The immune system also affects gastrointestinal imbalance. Poor nutrition, malabsorption, permeable intestine, intestinal dysbiosis, discharge problems, impaired liver function, medications, stress hormones, and an unhealthy diet weakens it. All organs and systems in the body are connected. If one of the organs is endangered, others will take over their role. The connection between the intestine and the brain was already known to the old Taoists. The lower part of the abdomen was also called the "second brain". Here is the enteric nervous system, along with the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system which also consists of the autonomic nervous system. Recent studies prove that the brain affects the intestines and even that the intestines affect the health of the brain. The communication system between the intestines and the brain is called the axis of the gut-brain. These two bodies are interconnected physically and biodynamically. **Everything is linked!** *Epilepsy and cannabis* Cannabis has been used for thousands of years. Chinese emperor Fu Hsi found that cannabis could return homeostasis to a body that is not in balance. Doctors in ancient Egypt, India, Persia, Greece, Arabia, and Rome, used cannabis for spiritual and medical purposes, for rheumatism, malaria, constipation, pain ... The use of cannabis for the purpose of treating epilepsy was first written by the Arab doctor Ali Iban al-Abbas al-Mayusi, who've around the year 1100 prescribed the injection of hemp juice from the hemp leaves to prevent epileptic seizures. This record indicates that an active ingredient which should prevent epileptic seizures was tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCa) and not decarboxylated THC. In the 19th century, O'Shaughnessy, McMeens, Moreau, and Reynolds independently tested the efficacy of cannabis extracts to prevent epileptic seizures. Sir William Brooke O'Shaughnessy, was some kind of a beginner, to use cannabis in medicine. From India cannabis was brought to Europe and later it was published a study, that a 40-day-old infant was successfully cured with hemp. Hemp products were introduced as an adjunct to bromide treatment, which was used as anti-epileptic medicines. in the 20th century. have begun studying the substances in it and isolating them for the purpose of manufacturing medicines. But in 1979 the US Act on Controlled Substances prohibited the use and cultivation of cannabis But nevertheless, some scientist were persisted and there were performed some clinical trials related to the safety and efficacy of cannabis use to treat epilepsy. The first study on hemp and epilepsy was published by Sidney Cohen in 1976. In 1990, researchers discovered how endocannabinoid receptors function, which was a gigantic achievement to understand how cannabis can help treat epilepsy. Studies and clinical trials (both on animals and humans) have shown that cannabidiol (CBD) is effective in alleviating seizures. The influence of cannabis on epilepsy, especially the CBD, has been quite well researched and supported by a number of official studies, almost everywhere in the world. There were also growned different kind of hemp strains, of which the primary purpose is the treatment of epilepsy. The best-known are Charlotte's Web, Haleigh's Hope, Palmetto Harmony and some more. Some other cannabinoids have been studied in the context of treatment of epilepsy. Particularly promising results show the acidic form of THCa (tetrahydrocannabinol acid). *Epilepsy* - https://steemit.com/health/@tinabrezpike/life-with-epilepsy-nr-2-the-falling-sickness To be continued...
