Hi This is my 61th Actifit post. This time I prepared an Actifit post not long after the previous one. I opened Actifit app after 18:00, I did some aerobics and daily activity at home then went to supermarket. Due to restricted lifestyle it has not been easy to reach 5k. WHO's statement about no more return to normal life made me gloomy, it can't be true. There's possibilty for the virus to mutate as SARS and MERS before vaccine/drug. Is the last chance social immunization? Try to be active for a good health and keep active with Actifit. Have healthy days to all! _This report was published via Actifit app ([Android](https://bit.ly/actifit-app) | [iOS](https://bit.ly/actifit-ios)). # **What is Harm Reduction** Psychology Today [Psychology Today](https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca) "Harm reduction" is an approach to treating those with alcohol and other substance-use problems that does not require patients to commit to complete abstinence before treatment begins. Instead, an array of practical strategies are deployed to reduce the negative health and social consequences of substance use, and psychotherapy aims to change behavior according to the goals of each patient, whether moderation of use or complete abstinence. Ear Candy Music Community on HIVE NetworkEar Candy Music Community is a community being built on the HIVE Blockchain as a partner and creator of a new community soon to come to HIVE we have not set the name or the stage yet it is in early development, but the main focus and topic will be "Harm Reduction" and "recovery" in substance and medical conditions, treatments, and procedures. Harm reduction supports, and encourages abstinence in addiction treatment. However, harm reduction approaches do not require abstinence and encourage daily healthier improvements in the addict's recovery. # **[Harm Reduction International](https://www.hri.global/what-is-harm-reduction) writes in the article below.** # **What is harm reduction?** **There is no universally accepted definition of harm reduction. The below lays out Harm Reduction International’s position on this issue based on our years of work on drug use, public health and human rights, and incorporates views shared by partner organisations.** Now I am not advocating drug use or abuse quite the opposite, its all about celebrating the small improvements on a daily or even hourly basis. Reducing the harm and staying healthier or even alive is the most important aspect here. There are many tools and ways to help one along the way to health and recovery, and music is a very healthy form of expression for both the artist and listener and can promote healthier choices and lifestyles. Ear Candy Music plays everything music and builds custom playlists for members that purchase custom playlists from [Deuceman](https://hive.blog/@deuceman) on the HIVE network. After reading this latest article from statnews.com[1] I was slightly gob smacked. Yes they really are trying to downplay the side effects of this vaccine already. You'll love the opening paragraph[1]:
That's right, they are referring to the side-effects when they say 'carry a bit of a kick'. The article continues:
Typically 'reactogenicity' is seen in response to adjuvants, though not explicitly so. However, at this point in time it's unclear what the exact ingredients of the Covid-19 vaccines are. While this is often sold to the public as a good sign, for example, this article even states:
Which is of course not a scientific statement, hence the 'maybe'. It's merely a guess, one which helps to soften any concerns over the side-effects. Kathryn Edwards, scientific director of the Vanderbilt Vaccine Research Program in Nashville, Tenn said, “I think one of the things we’re going to have to realize is that all of these vaccines are going to be reactogenic…. They’re all going to be associated with reactions,” So don't worry folks, all is well, side-effects are normal, in fact they may even be a good sign. There is no way it could be a bad sign, because injecting a virus, whether attenuated or live, mixed with various adjuvants and other goodies directly into your bloodstream, bypassing your body's natural filtration system via the mouth or nose is no cause for concern. But as I pointed out yesterday in the post regarding Moderna's vaccine safety trials[2] , these are not necessarily just mild side effects. As they even point out further down this article, where 90% of readers never fail to reach:
and as we reported yesterday regarding the Moderna Vaccine trials:
High dosage group has now been abandoned, but vaccines are produced in their final form as a 'one size fits all'. So a healthy 35-year-old male will get exactly the same quantity of ingredients as a 2-year-old or a 68-year-old woman with multiple health conditions. So we need to look at the high dosage group as an example of potential side-effects in weaker bodied people. But again, no one wants to talk about this. They know there are going to be issues and they are priming the public now with these issues, downplaying them in order to gain the trust they need. The article finishes with a statement from Brian Southwell, senior director of the science in the public sphere program at the Center for Communication Science at RTI International:
Would you take a Covid-19 Vaccine if or when it's available? Hey, people! I'm honored to be doing this Sunday's curation. It involves a lot more topics than my usual Mindful Life contributions, so it's pulled me well out of my comfort zone. I wasn't sure how to pick the best posts for the week, considering the plethora of valuable information on Hive, so I just picked an assortment of posts on a broad range of topics, some of which have already been mentioned in other curations in the past seven days. Rest assured, there are a lot of excellent posts beyond what I'm going to highlight here, so take some time to peruse the platform. I will start off with honest contributions about emotional distress and how to deal with it; then I'll continue with insights on mindfulness and awareness, and I'll conclude with advice on flowers, herbal and traditional medicine, delicious food and even DIY beehives!
My life is mostly anxiety-free, but it's been a long process for me to get to this point, so I can relate with the struggle of so many who courageously expose their hearts to strangers across the world in a bid to release themselves of the burdens of sorrow and dread, and also to help others cope with the same issues. **[With some advice from her chosen guru](https://peakd.com/hive-120078/@viking-ventures/the-black-dog-of-depression-health-and-healing)**, @viking-ventures opens up about her perception of depression, and how she's working through it. I had to share the doggie's picture because those eyes are too beautiful to pass.? --- In a similar note, @danielapevs tells us about her own ways to deal with the dark creeping thoughts that assault her nights as she braces for the morning cold. She talks about rituals, the practices and the circles of conversation that have slowly but surely allowed her to **[find inner peace](https://peakd.com/hive-120078/@danielapevs/serendipity-find-calm-in-the-soul-eng-esp)** even in her most emotionally challenging moments. Cheers to you, Dani! --- I've known great loneliness in my life, I've felt abandoned and disparaged. I'm sure all humans have felt these things at some point or another, and I firmly believe that, despite the difficulties these feelings bring at a personal level, they can also offer us bridges to connect with humanity at large. In two intimately related posts, @mamrita tells us not only about **[the loneliness she's been feeling](https://peakd.com/hive-120078/@mamrita/how-i-m-dealing-with-loneliness-and-my-longing-to-connect)** and how she's been dealing with it, but also about the practical, personal and professional importance of **[good listening skills](https://peakd.com/hive-120078/@mamrita/listening-is-an-art-how-well-do-you-listen)**. --- I'm not into quick solutions, they feel like patching up a pipeline that will eventually burst open in a far worse manner later on. I do like, however, to train myself to be able to make quick decisions and to improvise. I also love creating templates to make hard labor easier, and that's what we do when we plan, after all, we create templates for our lives. In two posts which are also deeply related although opposite to each other, @denmarkguy discusses **[the problem of quick fixes](https://peakd.com/hive-120078/@denmarkguy/is-our-addiction-to-quick-fixes-killing-us)** that leave us both unsatisfied and unable to truly make a difference in our lives, and also expounds upon the wonder and peace he derives from the presence of the **[birds that nest in his house](https://peakd.com/hive-120078/@denmarkguy/ready-to-fly-and-meanwhile-nature-just-does-its-thing)**, a process that has taken years to develop.
Emotional and spiritual harmony is often expressed in our physical form. @fenngen tells us how he's also working on himself to **[find balance in his life](https://peakd.com/hive-120078/@fenngen/to-manifest-balance)**, through a change in dietary habits, the exploration of his inner desires and the study of his surrounding environment. In the same line, @whitelightxpress explains the relevance of acknowledging the reality of our world while gaining further awareness within, by **[exercising gratitude](https://peakd.com/hive-120078/@whitelightxpress/mindful-living-finding-balance-in-chaotic-and-stressful-times)** for all the things that we experience and the learning they bring to us. Similarly, @genesishealthy shares with us a wonderful daily routine that she calls **["Miraculous Mornings"](https://peakd.com/hive-148441/@genesishealthy/esp-eng-experiencia-personal-or-rutina-de-mananas-milagrosas-esp-eng-personal-experience-or-routine-of-miraculous-mornings)**, involving meditation, breathing exercises, visualization and more. She's a believer that the first things we do when we wake up determine the way our days will proceed, and I agree with her. In the second edition of "Yoga World", @lizbetcontreras shows us a picture of what Yoga means to her, how she's used it and the benefits it's brought to her life, all in tune with a daily practices that enhances our sense of self and allows us to exercise acceptance and self-awareness.

The Great Garlic Harvest of 2020 is here! But first, several other scrumptious garden delights. Enjoy!https://images.hive.blog/DQmYTZLvzxVHJzXR2WKbM2WFzMocyb8KrhRSiRpfb7p9S4u/00.JPG If you've been following my garden posts, you'll have seen my peas go from seeds to full-grown plants along my shed, and they just finished up today. https://images.hive.blog/DQmVzCSH7ng3LG9BYt7wYXpJrBTHHPUCxzDt5Evo7kvKzkV/01.JPG Instead of crouching in the hot sun to pick the pods off the plants, I cut them all off at ground level and took them into the shade, where I could sit and do the work at my leisure. https://images.hive.blog/DQmZx1boj8CDS8M6qB7sW9ayMLrpMRh213SgCWrk8qWkQcQ/02.JPG Once I got the pods off, I pulled out the last of the tender young peas to make babysuperfood, and set aside about a dozen pods of full-sized peas to dry into seed for next year's crop. https://images.hive.blog/DQmUNEVtp1k5bRCgeJQsJuqoghmYX5QHtgVr2ovd2ur4Bbk/03.JPG They're sweet, and packed with flavour, protein, and vitamins. I will be doing more peas next spring if I'm still at this place (and hopefully even if I'm not). The Great Garlic Harvest 2020It's here. The day you (well, mostly I) have long awaited. The day my 40 garlic plants are pulled up, revealing the fruits of my labour (mostly waiting, to be honest) since I planted them in October. It has been an adventure! (Some got taken out in later winter by clueless city workers digging in my yard looking for the property line pin. Idiota!) https://images.hive.blog/DQmRQQCSeSDqTEaePiSNjZB7NiMBAGVcDuN7LTnFiNvFCwf/04.JPG The weather has turned truly hot here in South-central British Columbia (the Okanagan). That's traditionally when garlic is harvested, because it doesn't grow in the heat anyway. Now it can be allowed to dry, and either consumed, or planted again in October. https://images.hive.blog/DQmVHXF4YFg3KvRto599Uyvcr42t3aM7nXkjnu6BHwMs94k/harvest.gif Boom, that's what a garlic harvest looks like. Dig, pull, stack, and repeat. Actually, I left a few in the ground to see how they look after a full extra year of development. https://images.hive.blog/DQmNqBg9Sy22bktsKaHEb2SH6Yfyj2mgGJtKA5Czeg4V366/05.JPG I've grown garlic for years. It's great for the garden, the immune system, and the taste buds. https://images.hive.blog/DQmaM7DvKyU4NRa1DFft4qHbRDobStBGgzZ4P2jGw5z7WhB/07.JPG That's what one looks like after knocking the soil off. https://images.hive.blog/DQmXn6bkbeWGDgkB5fk5gEGyh1Dc5CvdPPWbknkFaMsX6Ey/06.JPG A bunch to be set aside for drying and eating. https://images.hive.blog/DQmUX5FPjj9E3kDc6g6jz8J7DqxP7HuCt9YxntX41kNDJq6/08.JPG Some to set aside for replanting before first frost. https://images.hive.blog/DQmbpzfn3S5F68CfcM25piWQJwd9f5YJmPpsc2VsJbxxYCh/09.JPG 25 bulbs drying in a cool, dry, dark place. We have a couple bulbs sitting on the windowsill, and they smell excellent!Other foodBut man cannot live on garlic alone. There's some other food growing around here, too! https://images.hive.blog/DQmQLzaULGL7aZ1qaY4cwFx2R82HNm8wyd5nu6D13Z9Tkju/10.JPG The tomato plants are bushy and wild, and forming dozens of little tomatoes. https://images.hive.blog/DQmcTWPDoBFTQ7Rpc2wxurjQyhmqA2nL4YSKhogXemchdAz/11.JPG My 2 rows of yellow wax bush beans. My dad always grew wax bush beans and supplied my mom's kitchen with them. I was bored of them at the time but looking back I see that as something they did right. Fresh, truly-organic vegetables grown out of dirt, the way nature intended for us and the way we've been doing it for thousands of generations. https://images.hive.blog/DQmPS6T8JwYtJ8K4Mn7eSSdLbS2QDsNsnxV6H2ju3AFDBwV/12.JPG Each plant has several flowers and several beans at the moment. https://images.hive.blog/DQmbC13iLT4HM1RuWjrRa2d2zk9FN1WdfRhxiXUQKPG3Ci9/13.JPG I brought in a small handful and we enjoyed them steamed. A few went into the blender combined with some peas for baby's first taste of beans. He approved, bigtime. https://images.hive.blog/DQmSHNZ6U1KGhv9B4xVusqMN4pAMDDQNV7tQBQfoRf7FvRG/14.JPG The 2 cucumber plants are doing well, sprawling in a few directions each. https://images.hive.blog/DQmYDJmforgbFbZ9AgtCNexHjX586auLw3QS523b2kUy3pz/15.JPG The larger of the 2 plants has already produced this cuke (photo taken yesterday). https://images.hive.blog/DQmPRTFeNjA4XTtzhyrZzZLsMpQs2UWkRXnFDzQjjYYJjNN/16.JPG I twisted it off today. There are others on the go, letting this one go another couple days wasn't strategically sound. I think I made the right call. And it was delicious! I wished Grama was alive to taste it. She always had me grow a couple cucumber plants for her, each year, in the front rose garden. (I don't know why there... tradition, I think.) Baby got a few soft pieces to chew up and swallow. It went well. He loves pretty much everything we give him! After almost 10 months, everything he has eaten so far has been made solely of plants - other than breastmilk from his mother! He's a great eater, and incredibly strong, happy, healthy, and smart. I'm so happy to be able to provide him with real food, directly from the garden behind our house, that I know is good for him. https://images.hive.blog/DQmNwMUvrJmKwbD3R1hFU57r5QmJLeKtQU6jwT2fyDFsNqL/17.JPG Squash! It's making a bee-line for, well, I don't know where. It's just shooting off across the lawn. https://images.hive.blog/DQmXCccsGCez88XdimicNzemA75DVCnZQCqFnzGqP1J4UoT/18.JPG Plenty of female flowers, like that one. And of course, several males as well: https://images.hive.blog/DQmdHifpLUDQHvsTCgPNbods8dDp74ekyCRia9Dqj5KqRXw/19.JPG But so far, all I've been getting are duds, like these ones: https://images.hive.blog/DQmSyThggc7XEJ1R3ZB65BqsDrsD7u7FCid59WQ4QCoqXgE/20.JPG And yes, I've been hand-pollinating them, as well as allowing bees and wind to work their magic. Now I think I might have a real squash forming, but we'll see what happens... https://images.hive.blog/DQmfJbzpDG2Tp6j9TjD4KszL3B7tPvDr1HxhzNKiHojuLuu/21.JPG I have another healthy tomato plant in a makeshift garden in front of the workshop. https://images.hive.blog/DQmW4YBxDDAPuwSjKSLsgNVFAarhwgSx3Z5mfLrqZ5Q6RzP/22.JPG And several potato plants there as well. https://images.hive.blog/DQmPjVrKLzBzK8d3i7msPpsx4G9etWiVSWZ8ANNZAEfu7WB/23.JPG The basil is bushing out nicely after being topped recently. Something has been eating at it... including @MediKatie and I! https://images.hive.blog/DQmaEfdmpVw5ERqHqnv2wfBTopZ5NR2XvC7HM1H2xENv5tQ/24.JPG The purslane just keeps doing its thing. Great edible ground cover! It's starting to flower now (the tiny yellow specks). https://images.hive.blog/DQmYM5onyHtYMkPTtP8cCBu4jGbQJrz9zj8cdfvQ3VWDBzW/25.JPGDessertSome people like a hot rhubarb pie or crumble, and I've certainly got the rhubarb to make it happen. https://images.hive.blog/DQmcyk9K8h3EQHMDLFkD8F1wzzW8BbgvagZ5uJ9m76a7K9a/26.JPG But I prefer a handful of sweet raspberries, fresh off the bush at the side of the house. It's peak production for raspberries right now, so eat as many as you can! Any we don't eat just go to waste, and encourage the plant to finish up for the year. So: EAT! https://images.hive.blog/DQmSreSEQvmJZiK3f18X2Mfw7WKdDYs9iwP4151AuEhbKeo/27.JPG Now THAT is fast food. Delicious, instant, and as a bonus, loaded with nutrition. Far better for you than anything you'll get from a factory, and free if you have some dirt, know-how, and time.Mid summer is here, and the harvests will keep coming around here!
