With time being short lately, let's see if I can be a bit more succinct in my write up for this one today! It has been a while since I've posted twice in one week on here, but this combination of beautiful farmers market produce and healthy pantry staples was good enough to get a feature on the blog. The meal was quick to put together, and you can easily substitute some of the main ingredients for whatever you might have on hand or growing in your own part of the world. One of the stars of the bowl was this gorgeous bunch of sprouted collard greens. This is what happens when your collards start to bolt. They produce stalks that very much resemble other brassicas with lovely little golden flowers if they get to the point of blooming. You can eat them just as you would the leaves of the collard plant, and it's a great way to make sure nothing goes to waste even if you forget about your harvest before it sprouts! Doesn't that look incredibly inviting to poke a fork in and try? So fresh and delicious, plus packed full of nutrients like the other brassicas and hearty leafy greens. I opted for a simple preparation. A small pat of vegan butter went into the warmed pan along with one sliced spring onion (greens and base). After the onion softened slightly, I added in the roughly chopped bunch of sprouted collards to cook for about 7-8 minutes. Make sure not to overcook or you'll lose that gorgeous vibrant color. For extra flavor, two minced cloves of garlic went in just at the end, followed by a few turns of fresh cracked pepper and a squeeze of lemon to serve. Perfection! My farmer, Lynn, was kind enough to gift me the collards as a birthday present, so I couldn't help but do them justice. The spring onion was also from her farm, while the golden beets, kohlrabi and salad microgreens were also straight from the farmers market to the bowl. I also got to try fresh chervil for the first time--a lovely green herb with a subtle anise-like flavor. Which leads me to the other portion of the dish...the golden salad! Golden Salad
Cook the lentils and quinoa according to package directions. Both should only take about 15 minutes. Set aside and let cool. Using a grater or food processor, shred the raw beets and kohlrabi. Add to a large bowl with the cooled lentils and quinoa, gently stirring together with the chopped chervil. Whisk together the remaining ingredients through the nutritional yeast. Taste and adjust the dressing to your liking before stirring into the salad. Top with walnuts and serve! Some extra microgreens never hurt, especially to add some extra nutrients and pop of fresh, slightly bitter flavor. This bowl was one of those that truly epitomizes the beauty of spring produce. The subtle flavor of the golden lentils was perfect to let the vegetables sing without overpowering them like brown lentils might. I'm still on the mustard dressing kick, but it really works so well with bitter greens. And there are so many subtle ways to adjust it for a slightly different accompaniment ever time! If you come across some sprouted brassicas, I encourage you to give them a try. Greens are worth their weight in gold to keep the body health! I might be taking a bit of liberty with greens being the total star, but this post was partially inspired by the new weekly [Plant Power Cooking Challenge](https://peakd.com/hive-120078/@lotusshares/join-our-healthy-food-challenge-or-the-plant-power-weekly-cooking-challenge) initiated by @justinparke for @naturalmedicine on the @lotusshares account. Plus I know how much he likes plant based takes on collard greens... ;) https://s25.postimg.cc/dqk9unx5b/plantstoplanks.png https://i.imgur.com/hhfES5e.png https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/488807459834691605/706599548289810502/TEAMUSA-hive_footer_blueptp.jpgPosted from my blog with Exxp : https://plantstoplanks.com/shades-of-green-gold-sauteed-greens-a-golden-lentil-beet-salad/ Originally posted: https://hive.blog/hive-120078/@plantstoplanks/shadesofgreengoldsauteedgreensagoldenlentilbeetsalad-25a0fq269namxi7y80w5

Tomorrow (Tuesday) I will be receiving my COVID vaccine shot. I’m not sure which one I’ll be getting until I get there, but I hope it is the Johnson & Johnson one of only got the reason of not having to schedule a second appointment being this initial one was a chore to snag. Luckily my wife was diligent in checking religiously. I am hoping to be able to potentially travel later in the year, so I want to get it sooner rather than later. Hoping that I don’t get bogged down by tough temporary symptoms though as I have to work my long and busy day on Wednesday. That would suck. My wife got the J&J one a couple of weeks back and was knocked on her ass for a good 24 hours afterwards. Fever, chills, body aches, and the works...but it luckily faded quickly. So my question to my lovely friends on Hive is...who here has gotten the vaccine? If so, which one and did you experience any side effects? Stay healthy my friends. After dozens of reports of deaths due to sudden blot clots, and weeks of nonstop promises that AstraZeneca's product is "safe and effective", Canadian officials are pulling it from use until further analysis can be completed. AstraZeneca has been touted as "the world's vaccine" because it is easier to transport than Pfizer or Moderna, and has already been given to millions of people. The stoppage, while potentially temporary, will be a signal to many that maybe they should rethink their blind faith in the state's untested rushed experimental "vaccines".Deny, deny, denyAll these vaccines - not just AstraZeneca - are always said to be "100% safe and effective", right up until the moment they are recalled, paused, or halted. Problems are denied, and those who discuss the problems are called "anti-vaxxers". When the problems can't be denied anymore, they are downplayed. But the damage is done. The pro-vaxxers have finally been forced to admit that sometimes, people are injured and killed by their products. How this impacts the overall vaccine rollout and narrative is yet to be seen. I'm reminded that past "pandemics" have gone much the same way, like in 1976 with the swine flu. Fear was ramped up in the media, the vaccine was rushed out by big pharma, presidents took it live on TV to bolster support, and millions were injured and killed. The products were recalled, the "pandemic" went away on its own, and the whole thing was covered up and forgotten. You really have to dig if you want to learn about that stuff, but it's there. Time and time again, we rush out unnecessary vaccines, hurt a bunch of people, and then try and pretend it never happened. For me, this is just one more reason, on a huge pile of reasons, why I will never voluntarily take a Covid vaccine. Unfortunately, I might not have a choice, as Canada (and the USA) are now discussing mandatory vaccinations. For my full #DeepDives article about that, please click here.I'm not telling anyone to avoid the Covid vaccines. I'm saying, as I have from the start, that you should make up your OWN mind, once you've learned everything there is to know about it, and weighs the pros and cons against your own personal situation. I'm saying that you aren't crazy to take a wait-and-see approach to these rushed, untested, and unnecessary pharmaceutical products. The crazy ones are those without any knowledge of the "vaccine" who are purposely ignoring warning signs and refusing to investigate. History clearly shows that blind obedience to the state, mainstream media, and big pharmaceutical corporations is NOT healthy. It's potentially deadly.DRutter https://images.hive.blog/DQmSZRs2Ve61NPprSfYYcTde6ia6gDowqCmyfd2nv4fdg4h/banner2021.pngOriginally posted: https://hive.blog/news/@drutter/major-blow-to-the-covid-vaccine-narrative-astrazeneca-jab-halted-in-canada-for-risk-of-blood-clots

> Polio is a viral disease, meaning that it is caused by a virus. The function of this virus is to mainly affect the spinal cord, it is an alarming virus since by attacking the spinal cord it can cause serious problems such as muscle weakness and paralysis temporarily or permanently. Being a virus it is highly contagious so it is very easy to spread from person to person.. • According to studies in 95% of the cases with people who have poliomyelitis, paralysis is not usually present, this is known as abortive poliomyelitis. In these cases it happens that the poliovirus maintains a replication within the gastrointestinal tract, this means that it will be excreted through the feces and hence the spread of the virus (of course, if we go to logic within the anatomical study we know that most of it that is within the gastrointestinal tract will be evacuated through feces). • According to studies in 5% of cases the poliovirus replicates within other places in the human body such as the endothelial reticulum and the muscles. In these cases there are usually signs and symptoms similar to those of influenza, they are mild symptoms such as fever, headache, odynophagia, fatigue, lumbago, neck pain, vomiting. • According to studies in some very rare cases but that can happen, about 1 to 2% of the poliovirus enters the central nervous system and causes specific damage within the spinal cord, when this damage occurs it causes injury to motor neurons (remember that these are responsible for allowing movement through order and signal) and when presenting an injury this means that there is a risk of suffering paralysis temporarily or permanently. In the same way, it would affect the respiratory part, causing a respiratory arrest and subsequently death. These patients usually present symptoms such as; hyporeflexia, myalgia, flaccid paralysis In some cases when people do not die from the poliovirus and all the problems that it suffers from, they usually present post-polio symptoms, these people require neurorehabilitation and they usually present problems such as constant muscle and joint pain, swallowing and breathing problems, fatigue, muscle atrophy due to lack of movement in it.
> The doctor will evaluate the patient to rule out whether there is a possibility that it is polio. Among the information that will be requested will be the vaccination card to know if you have your polio vaccinations up to date. Among the tests that are done to diagnose poliovirus are: > ###### 1.- A throat swab culture > This consists of taking a sample which is carried out in the throat, the way to do it is by rubbing with a swab and thus being able to obtain a sample of the bacteria and / or viruses that are found there. > ###### 2.- Lumbar puncture >As mentioned above, the poliovirus attacks the spinal cord, so a sample of the cerebrospinal fluid is required to be evaluated and to know if the poliovirus exists within it.

Every day I see people more and more involved in obligations. Unwanted occupations, in increasing numbers, seem to rob them of precious time that could be used to take advantage of life's opportunities. Then, they feel the emptiness and anxiety so common in contemporary society. Time passes and nothing happens, it is a recurring feeling. This happens because most people ignore what they want and do not understand what they feel. We are driven by a common reasoning that leads us to believe that obligations, whether they are survival or social commitments, are the only way to survive, delay the journey to find the wondrous opportunities that will transform our lives and lead us to paradise. What few realize, however, are the opportunities that exist in each obligation. Every obligation can become a flower in the garden of existence.
However, our own brains bombard us with standardized, preprogrammed thoughts of conflict and fear. Worse, we believe that these ideas have been created by us and protect us. They emerge without our calling them. They have always been with us, that is why we consider them family and do not notice them. They are thoughts that were born with us, but were not created by us. They are like weeds that sprout without our having planted them; it is useless to prune them, they will sprout again. It is necessary to uproot them and then plant flowers in their place. Specialists affirm that by changing the way we deal with our thoughts, we can modify the neural ramifications of the brain and reverse the negative interpretation of suffering, which is shown in the foreground, and that tends to dominate and direct our feelings towards the gloomy side of life. Paraphrasing a current term, it is possible to update the software, the brain. Today, self-awareness, meditation and yoga are recommended in doctors' offices as ways to keep the mind healthy and the body healthy, strengthening the immune system and avoiding ailments caused by frustration, It is a new practice for science, an ancient practice of Buddhism, which has been practiced since ancient times. A novelty for science, an ancient practice of Buddhism.
Anyone's life can be boring when it is full of obligations or fantastic when it is transformed into opportunities. The conversion factor from one to the other is the amount of love we involve in each situation. Unwrap the root. Always remember that.
