When my children were little and they had a day off from school, I would sometimes treat them to lunch at McDonalds, or take them to the movies, and then we would go to the local park so they could play on the swings. Right now millions of children are home from school indefinitely. They aren't on vacation they were sent home due to the coronavirus pandemic. Parents can't take their kids to McDonalds,or the movies, or even the parks because everything is closed. They can play at home or in their own backyards. They can't even have their friends over. Grandparents who used to babysit their grandchildren can no longer be in the same room with them,for fear of the virus spreading from the children to the grandparents. They now keep in touch over the internet. People who used to go to work everyday are now working from home or have been laid off.Weddings, birthday parties,baby showers,and graduation parties have been cancelled. Any event that would draw together a lot of people has been cancelled. This is how it is right now it's our new reality. I don't know when it's going to end and start going back to normal. Where I live the virus is escalating quite rapidly. It will be at least a few months before things start relaxing,hopefully that is. As for now we all must continue to practise social distancing, check on our elderly relatives and friends and stay as healthy as possible. Remember we can still get out in the fresh air and enjoy nature and every outing can always be made better with a furry companion. Anyone with an Instagram account with a decent follower base can become an influential voice and the users will listen; a beautiful girl with enough brains is able to start her makeup tutorial channel or ASMR vlog and men will flock towards her; half-brained gaming live-streamers can and will make a ton of money by just doing their thing online; hell, even back on Steem I've seen content creators that are *suddenly experts* on every topic they can think of, and you see tutorials about dozens of topics as if they held any authority as certified experts on them. Truth is, credentials don't matter in social media and having a big enough audience makes you an opinion leader, as anarchic as that may sound. #### In fact, I've engaged on these practices without even realizing it. Living inside the whole 24 hours is boring. And, as the whole family is inside the home all day long so it's a huge preparation for food. ![]() I have been wanting to test out water fasting for a long time but never gotten to it because I didn't want to give up my regular activity. With the current lockdown it's the perfect timing to finally do it so I started and 80 hour period without eating any food whatsoever just drinking water (at least an attempt to do so). It's supposed to be really healthy as your body goes into repair mode instead of building from the food that constantly comes in. I have no idea if it's going to be hard or not and guess I will see the coming days. I am currently 9 hours in (the night) and have 71 hours left to go. Fat being burned along with some weight loss should be a side effect.
